Organizations that want to apply for the Craftmark have to fill up Form I(a) and Form II and submit them to AIACA along with the application fees. For private organizations, the fee is based on the turnover of the business. For NGOs, the fee is based on the number of craftworkers represented by the organization. The fees are listed in Table I.

There is an additional non-refundable fee of Rs. 1,000 for each craft for which the Craftmark certification is sought.

Once AIACA receives the completed forms, it will send an acknowledgment letter to the applicant listing the crafts for which the applicant proposes to use the Craftmark. If the production process for these crafts has already been documented by AIACA, then we will send out a team of consultants to the organization to verify the details provided in the application. In this case, the application will be processed within a period of 60 days from the date of application.

However, if the production process for the craft that the applicant would like to use the Craftmark with has not yet been documented in detail by AIACA, then we will first go through the process of visiting the relevant craft cluster and gathering details. Only after the production process has been documented, will AIACA send a team to the organization to verify the details. In this case, the application will be processed within a maximum period of 120 days from the date of application.

Once the application has been approved, AIACA will send a license agreement listing the particular crafts for which the organization is authorized to use the Craftmark. If the application is rejected for any reason, the applicant will be sent a detailed memo listing the reasons for the rejection of the application. In such a case, the fees submitted will be reimbursed to the applicant after deducting any expenses incurred by AIACA on processing the application.
